Path of Solitude by Thomas Carr (1982 YoungArts Winner in Photography)

Enlightened: Contemporary Photography by YoungArts Alumni
, the first-ever YoungArts exhibition dedicated solely to photography, will open to the public on May 5, 2017.

Curated by YoungArts master teacher and panelist Michelle Dunn Marsh, the exhibition will feature works by 27 multi-generational alumni representative of the organization’s history. Included are works by YoungArts Winners from 1982 to 2016. Investigating a wide range of subjects such as current affairs, history, the body, race and urbanism, artists will showcase various conceptual and aesthetic explorations in contemporary photography, woven together by Dunn Marsh’s curatorial vision.

Join us at YoungArts for the opening reception on May 5 at 7pm (please RSVP here). The exhibition will be on view until June 30, 2017
