The exhibition was curated by Liz Shannon of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and presents works by 33 next generation artists who interrogate the world through their artistic practices. The often intensely personal work presents diverse aesthetic, intellectual and emotional concerns that serve to further Miami’s reputation as a place where art is encouraged to flourish.
Using a wide range of artistic media ranging from collage to assemblage, painting to fashion design, and photography to performance art, the 2017 winners share some of their strongest works and engage the audience in multiple conversations on current affairs. Incite contemporary investigations, and also request a furthering of the dialogue on art education, support of the arts, and art as a viable career path.
