Bleed Heroine by Clara Collins (2017 Winner in Design Arts)

Girl of Your Dreams (And Nightmares) by Panteha Abareshi (2017 Winner in Design Arts)

As everyone at YoungArts is getting ready for YoungArts Los Angeles we asked staff members what they are most excited about:

Isabela Dos Santos, Social Media & Video Manager:
John Heginbotham! He has worked with us twice before. He will be directing the Dance, Theater and Voice performance on Saturday, April 1 at Royce Hall. I just love his performances. They are always really creative and quirky. He does a really great job of combining all the different students in the disciplines and keeping it really interesting while still letting each person shine. It feels like a cohesive show even though each person is doing something completely different.

Kelley Kessell, Alumni Community Coordinator
I am looking forward to seeing all of the Los Angeles alumni at our happy hour at Palomino, and also hanging out with the 2017 winners and getting to know them.

Delali Ayivor, External Relations Coordinator:
I look forward to the same thing I always look forward to in the regional programming, which is getting to know the winners. I want to see the art that they create, but also to get to know them better as people and find out what their personal passions are and how those connect to the work that they make.

Joey Butler, Artistic Programs Coordinator
I am excited to see John Heginbotham's work. I heard he has had incredible performances and this will be my first time seeing him direct one.

Luisa Munera, Exhibitions Manager
Having the exhibition in a new space and working on this exhibition with John Tain, the Assistant Curator for Modern & Contemporary Collections at Getty Research Institute, is what I look forward to the most.  The Visual Arts, Photography and Design exhibition opens on Sunday, April 2, at 2 pm at Building Bridges Art Exchange in Santa Monica.
