Blog > YoungArts New York Highlights – Part 1

YoungArts winners have been soaking up the New York City energy while creating, learning, practicing and collaborating with peers and master teachers. Highlights of the week so far include a Dance master class with Zimbabwean dancer and choreographer Nora Chipaumire, screen printing with world renowned artist Mickalene Thomas, a studio visit with José Parla, and a master class with Nobel Prize-winning author Sir Salman Rushdie.
After a week of master classes, YoungArts winners will show their work in an exhibition and a series of performances. You can still join us tonight at Sotheby’s for the Visual Arts, Photography and Design exhibition  and on Sunday for the Classical Music Performance and Writers’ Readings directed by Elizabeth Joy Roe and Joan Morgan at the Baryshnikov Arts Center. Saturday’s Voice, Theater, Dance and Jazz Performance directed by Michael McElroy with jazz direction by Adam Larson is sold out, but videos of the performances will be available soon.
In the meantime, check out some photos from the master classes below.
