In the Studio / Out the Studio New York 2011

March 17, 2011 - 12:33pm

This year’s In the Studio/Out of the Studio will be on April 9-16, 2011 in locations around New York City, including the Baryshnikov Arts Center, Affirmation Arts Gallery, El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice School in Brooklyn, Frank Sinatra School for the Arts in Queens and Rebel Diaz Collective in the Bronx.

This annual week- long event held in New York City is a truly unique experience dedicated to furthering the YoungArts experience for the Gold and Silver award winners. These students were adjudicated at the highest level of their peer group during YoungArts Week in Miami; they represent the top tier of talented young artists in the nation, and many go on to become Presidential Scholars in the Arts. As a result of their exceptional performances at YoungArts Week, they are invited to New York City for additional artistic enrichment opportunities, including master classes with world-renowned artists and participate in workshops and interdisciplinary activities. In the Studio students are given the chance to perform at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in front of a New York audience and exhibit their work at Affirmation Arts gallery. Out of the Studio students perform at schools and community centers in the five boroughs of New York City for their peers, as a way of extending the impact of their interdisciplinary performances.
