Classical Music is open to orchestral instrumentalists, pianists, and composers. The strongest auditions demonstrate excellence in the craft of playing or writing, the ability to reveal the nuances of each work, versatility, and a truly personal style.

AM I ELIGIBLE
To apply to YoungArts, artists must be:
A citizen of the United States or permanent resident/green card recipient (copy of documentation is required in the application)
15-18 years of age or in grades 10-12 on December 1, 2017
Please also note that Finalists who have previously attended YoungArts Week are not eligible to apply in any discipline/category. We encourage these artists to participate in alumni programming. Please contact [email protected] to find out more.

Prepare the required submission materials
Complete the application on Acceptd, an online application tool
Pay the $35 application fee or get a fee waiver.
Fee waivers are available to qualified applicants. This means, if you qualify, your entire application fee(s) will be waived and you will not have to pay. To receive a fee waiver, you must upload documentation of need (please see below). In order to successfully SUBMIT an application for review, these documents must be uploaded in the Payment section of the application prior to the October 13, 2017, 11:59pm EST deadline. NO EXCEPTIONS. One of the following documents may be uploaded for a fee waiver:
ACT or SAT testing fee waiver or NACAC College Application Fee waiver form.
Document that states you receive Federal Free or Reduced Price Lunch program (FRPL).
Document from a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g., TRIO programs such as Upward Bound).
Letter from a school teacher, guidance counselor or other school official stating that you qualify for financial aid.
