One of the later additions to the nine disciplines is the category of Cinematic Arts. One panelist said it best when they stated, "Filmmakers are artists, not just technicians. These young artists have something of themselves to express, and they do it with flair and precision."
With the accessibility of editing software tools, submissions in this category have produced an emphasis on an artistic perspective and expression while demonstrating a well developed knowledge of film and video production.
YoungArts has the support of impressive art advocates across many disciplines. In Cinematic Arts, these remarkably talented youth include those whose works have been seen at the celebrated Tribeca Film Festival and have won awards at both the Cannes and Sundance Film Festivals.
The film panelists will also determine recipients of Honorable Mention and Merit awards.
