Galas & Events

Backyard Ball

The YoungArts Backyard Ball Performance and Gala is our largest annual fundraiser, and the culmination of YoungArts Week in January, our signature national program celebrating the nation’s best emerging artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts. Each year YoungArts hosts more than 800 notable attendees including celebrities, VIPs, master teachers, national image-makers and tastemakers who gather in Miami to honor the achievements of these talented young artists. The evening is one of artistic immersion with incredible not-to-be-missed performances by YoungArts alumni. In addition, YoungArts recognizes honorees with Arison Awards for their invaluable commitment to the arts. Previous Arison awardees include Robert Redford, Rita Moreno, Zaha Hadid, Adrian Grenier, Andrew Rannells, Kerry Washington, Rosie Perez, Robert Wilson, Tony Yazbeck, Jason Moran, Jessica Lang and others.

New York Gala

The New York Gala underscores YoungArts longstanding and still-growing commitment to supporting emerging New York artists. The event brings together New York City’s top cultural and community leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and art aficionados.
Hosted annually at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the sold-out evening raises more than half a million dollars and celebrates aspiring young artists across the nation, including nearly 700 YoungArts winners in ten arts disciplines.
