Backyard Ball

The YoungArts Backyard Ball Performance and Gala is our largest annual fundraiser, and the culmination of YoungArts Week in January, our signature national program celebrating the nation’s best emerging artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts. Each year YoungArts hosts more than 800 notable attendees including celebrities, VIPs, master teachers, national image-makers and tastemakers who gather in Miami to honor the achievements of these talented young artists. The evening is one of artistic immersion with incredible not-to-be-missed performances by YoungArts alumni. In addition, YoungArts recognizes honorees with Arison Awards for their invaluable commitment to the arts. Previous Arison awardees include Robert Redford, Rita Moreno, Zaha Hadid, Adrian Grenier, Andrew Rannells, Kerry Washington, Rosie Perez, Robert Wilson, Tony Yazbeck and others. The YoungArts Backyard Ball 2017 took place on January 14, 2017.

New York Gala

The New York Gala underscores YoungArts longstanding and still-growing commitment to supporting emerging New York artists. The event brings together New York City’s top cultural and community leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and art aficionados.
On April 6, 2016, YoungArts hosted the YoungArts New York Inaugural Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s The Temple of Dendur in the Sackler Wing. The sold-out evening raised nearly half a million dollars and celebrated the organization’s 35 years of support and lasting impact on young talent in the cultural capital of New York and across the nation. Presented in collaboration with luxury brand Swarovski, the event was hosted by honorary co-chairs and YoungArts artistic advisors Mikhail Baryshnikov, Artistic Director of the Baryshnikov Arts Center, and renowned opera singer Plácido Domingo, as well as gala co-chairs Sarah Arison and Agnes Gund.

YoungArts New York Gala 2017 will take place April 20, 2017.
