YoungArts Awareness Day is a nationwide initiative to encourage emerging artists to pursue their dreams of becoming professional artists. YoungArts Awareness Day aims to underscore the opportunities available to emerging artists (between the ages of 15 and 18 or in high school grades 10‐12) through the organization that provides them with life‐changing experiences to help ensure they are supported in their pursuit of careers in the arts.
Our third annual YoungArts Awareness Day, held on September 27, 2016, was a huge success thanks to the individuals and organizations who came out, shared their #MyArtStory, spread the word and encouraged young artists to apply to YoungArts. In just one day...
- Over 400 of you attended our events, including the MouthWater Exhibition Opening in Miami and A Very Brief History of the United States in Washington D.C.
- Over 1,300 alumni, master teachers, cultural partners, friends and supporters spread the word and shared their #MyArtStory in social media posts that were seen by 6.5 million people
- Hundreds of alumni represented YoungArts by wearing limited-edition tees (you can still buy 'em!) and telling their friends about our program
- We received 42 gifts and raised over $9,000 to support YoungArts programming for the 2017 year (you can still help us make an even bigger impact by donating now!)
