Backyard Ball

The YoungArts Backyard Ball Performance and Gala is our largest annual fundraiser, and the culmination of YoungArts Week in January, our signature national program celebrating the nation’s best emerging artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts. Each year YoungArts hosts more than 800 notable attendees including celebrities, VIPs, master teachers, national image-makers and tastemakers who gather in Miami to honor the achievements of these talented young artists. The evening is one of artistic immersion with incredible not-to-be-missed performances by YoungArts alumni. In addition, YoungArts recognizes honorees with Arison Awards for their invaluable commitment to the arts. Previous Arison awardees include Robert Redford, Rita Moreno, Zaha Hadid, Adrian Grenier, Andrew Rannells, Kerry Washington, Rosie Perez, Robert Wilson, Tony Yazbeck and others. The 2017 YoungArts Backyard Ball took place on January 14, 2017.

New York Gala

The New York Gala underscores YoungArts longstanding and still-growing commitment to supporting emerging New York artists. The event brings together New York City’s top cultural and community leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and art aficionados.
On April 20, 2017, YoungArts hosted the second annual New York Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s The Temple of Dendur in the Sackler Wing. The sold-out evening raised more than half a million dollars and celebrated aspiring young artists across the nation, including this year’s nearly 700 YoungArts winners in ten arts disciplines. Presented in collaboration with luxury brand Swarovski, with support from Max Mara, the gala was emceed by former Gossip Girl and The Knick actress Zuzanna Szadkowski (1997 Winner in Theater and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), and featured a series of dynamic cross-disciplinary performance vignettes directed by YoungArts alum Jake Goldbas (2007 Winner in Jazz).

Programs for the Public

Each year, YoungArts hosts several events on the YoungArts campus in Miami featuring alumni and master teachers, including the Outside the Box series, Salon series, exhibitions and awareness events. We also host select events in New York and Los Angeles.
