New York GALA

The YoungArts New York Gala underscores YoungArts' longstanding and growing commitment to supporting emerging New York-based artists. The event brings together New York City’s top cultural and community leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and art aficionados.

Understanding that New York is a vital creative center, YoungArts is focused on expanding its programs and initiatives within the city. The fourth annual YoungArts New York Gala showcased YoungArts alumni in interdisciplinary performances throughout the night directed by renowned actor, singer and musical director Michael McElroy (1985 Winner in Theater). Broadway and TV star Daniel J. Watts (2000 Winner in Dance) served as the evening’s emcee.
The event—which takes place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art—was co-chaired by Sarah Arison, Gillian Hearst and Sandra Tamer, with multidisciplinary artist and master teacher Derrick Adams and YoungArts Trustee Emeritus Agnes Gund serving as honorary co-chairs.
Your commitment will make a difference in the lives of emerging artists by providing a foundation of support for diverse programs, awards and mentorship across every discipline. Your interest and generosity enable YoungArts to invest in artists in New York and throughout the nation, encouraging their pursuit of artistic excellence and careers in the arts. The evening precedes the YoungArts New York regional program, which takes place at the end of April.
